Speechless Sundays: San Francisco and today's Half-Marathon

A few words are necessary--today was the Kaiser Permanente Half-Marathon in San Francisco, California. As you can see, it was a gorgeous day, and a prettier venue is hard to imagine. While about 10 of my women runners, many from the Tattersol Running Group out of Stanford, and I enjoyed the run in Golden Gate Park and along the Great Highway, my husband Gene went on a hike. (San Francisco is a hiker's paradise--hills to conquer and lots of parks scattered throughout.

Here are a couple of shots he took:

Happy runners at the start of the 1/2 marathon

Golden Gate Park, Marin hills, Pacific Ocean

Looking down at Golden Gate Park and the Pacific Ocean from Grand View Park--

hard to believe 10,000 runners were below!

View of Downtown San Francisco, to the left the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park, to the right the University of California Medical School at the foot of Mt. Sutro - taken from Grand View Park.
