Farmers' Market at Fort Mason, San Francisco

The Farmers' Market at Fort Mason, San Francisco

A growing trend in cities and towns across the country are Farmers' Markets, which provide a fun shopping experience and extremely fresh tasty produce and other local wares.

San Francisco is no different; one can find a Farmers' Market every day of the week, in different neighborhoods.

My favorite is the Sunday one at Fort Mason, open from 9:30-2:00, or thereabouts. It's a lovely 20-minute walk from our condo, taking us along pretty neighborhood streets, through parkland with views of the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge.

It's a happy place to visit --- with some yummy meals soon to follow!

Today we purchased: yellow chard; red and yellow tomatoes; giant golden raisins; a basket of strawberries; a nectarine, peach, and plucot from a farm in Turlock; a loaf of artisan rye bread; a bottle of wine from the Mt. Diablo area; goat cheese from Marin County.

--- Come for a visit; Stay for a lifetime!
