Book Review--Socialnomics..., by Erik Qualman

Book Review:

Socialnomics: how social media transforms the way we live and do business, by Erik Qualman

Socialnomics, book by Erik Qualman

While I haven't finished the book yet, I wanted to write this first review to encourage others to get a copy and jump in! This is a fun read, very easy to understand, and full of examples to explain the points made and ideas presented.

Those of us interested in Social Media (and who among us on Active Rain isn't??) are aware of how brilliantly the Barak Obama campaign used Facebook, Twitter, YouTube to engage with people, and one chapter is devoted to that. In that chapter, I learned fascinating information about Google Insights and how companies can use that information to make strategic decisions about choosing marketing words and phrases.

Every chapter so far has brought "ah ha" moments to me, and I'm sure there are many more to come--a future post!

This book is a must for anyone in business (REALTORS?), anyone doing marketing of any sort (REALTORS?), or anyone who wants to stay in touch with the world at large in a more effective way (REALTORS?)

It's easy to buy a copy at your favorite bookstore, or online at Amazon. It's available in hardcover, as a Kindle edition, or in audible format.

Isn't it time to curl up with a good read on a chilly evening?

--- Come for a visit; Stay for a lifetime!

Lottie ~ Thanks for the sharing. That really may be the next book for me.  I read Say Anything about blogging not to long ago.

There are so many interesting books available to us, aren't there? My goal is to read one business-related book each month--and a few good fiction "reads" too each year.

Lottie:

I hope you are doing well!  I have to say I'm jealous of you in San Carlos while I freeze in Cambridge!

Thanks for reading Socialnomics and for the kind words ~ I'm thrilled that you find it helpful!

Gita/Haris:  I hope that you enjoy the books as well!

Best, Erik Qualman

Lottie, I'm always looking for books to read; although at the moment I have several.  I'm bookmarking this for my next Amazon order.

Hi Lottie - It will be interesting how 2010 candidates adopt parts of the Obama social media strategy. Socialnomics is on my list for 2010 ... though I would rather read it out by the pool. Hope it warms up soon!

Hi Walter -- I don't think you'll be disappointed.

John -- I'm not out by the pool, either. Chilly on the San Francisco Peninsula. Happy reading!

Matt -- Check it out. If you've read and enjoyed Malcolm Gladstone's style of writing (Outliers; Blink!, The Tipping Point) you're sure to like this one, too.
