So, what do you do when the day's Open House gets canceled due to the sellers' change of plans?
Why, enjoy the unexpected time off! Today my husband and I decided to hike at Mt. Diablo State Park, located behind Walnut Creek and Danville, in Contra Costa County. Further afield than most of our day hikes, our drive took about 1-1/2 hours. But, it was well worth it! After 6 hours of strenuous hiking, we're home, tired, refreshed, ready to call it a day and begin the week with a great sense of accomplishment and marvelous memories.
Enjoy the show!
Lottie, talk about making lemonade! Good for you. Nothing like a long hike. Thanks for the vicarious relaxation!
Mary Kay, thanks for hiking along with me! We'll sleep well tonight, I'm sure.
I am sure Ben Gay will be visiting you in the morning. I am so glad to see that you took advantage of a great day and enjoyed it with your significant other, as they are really the back bone of our business. Without their love and support, we could never accomplish what we do.
Good morning Don. The muscles are OK today, but the leg cramps last night were quite something! You're so right, spending time with our loved ones is what makes it all worth it.
There's nothing as wonderful as hiking through a state park. Away from the phones and dinging emails. Among the chatter of birds. I'm jealous. I wish I had time to do that. Must make hiking a priority soon.
Lottie: you were in my backyard! I love it up there...my son LOVES the Rock City and there's a really cool 1 mile loop trail around the summit that's perfect for my kids. The pictures you took are just beautiful too. The weather here was so perfect yesterday too - you really lucked out with a clear day!
Hi Elizabeth, when an open Sunday appeared, I grabbed it! Most of my hiking is done within cell phone range, but I get a kick out of taking business calls while sitting on the trail. We don't have to be penned in by four walls any more -- technology is a tether, but has a long leash!
Cari, when I was a kid growing up in Orinda, Rock City was a favorite of mine, too. One of the photos in my slide show was along the trail circling the summit--that is one gorgeous trail!
