Today was the first open house for the new listing at 1963 Rock Street, #12, in Mountain View, CA 94043
It was a beautiful day, and being perched in amidst the treetops was delightful. Imagine my surprise when I looked from one of the decks and saw this sunbather at the pool:

In case you missed it, I've cropped the photo below:

Yep, it was a mallard duck. He and his partner come this time of year, spend a few weeks or so, then disappear until the next year, so say some of the neighbors I met today.

OK, I've got to say it -- it quacked me up (sorry folks) especially when he went into the water to cool off!

I decided my mallard friend was good feng shui. We had good traffic through and some very interested prospective buyers.
Lottie, I know what you mean.. we had three visiting ducks today at out boat dock... I had been finding duck feathers on the pontoon boat. Now I know why. They were having a good time cleaning themselves. I'm going to upload later.
Nice photo...good luck with the sale. Perhaps the 'quacker' knows someone who may be interested ;-)
Lottie, we have ducks that spend time this year on and around the neighborhood "couldee". They are quite entertaining. Mama mallard produced 13 babies. Only 3 remain, but they are doing well. I had not considered the feng shui angle.
Hi Judi -- it's a nice time of year to enjoy the various birds, isn't it? This guy made me laugh--he looked so much like the human sunbathers around a pool, even taking a dip to cool off, and then back to bask in the sun.
John -- I like the way you think!
Hello Mary Kay - how interesting it must be to have a duck family to watch. Makes me think of the kids' book, Make Way For Ducklings. Sure hope the 3 remaining babies make it to adulthood.
How cute is that?
Hey, Debra -- I thought it was pretty cute, too. I had bottled water on the deck, and visitors to the condo stayed a few extra minutes, enjoying the sunbather. They loved him, too.
Lottie, how cute
Hi Carla -- I decided it was a good omen!
Lottie, I love the picture. I too believe it is a good omen.
Gita, the duck was so cute to watch. And we're getting a good amount of interest on the condo, too.
