Home Prices in San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara

Home prices expected to rise in the San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara metropolitan area.

CNNMoney.com published an interesting article entitled California housing prices on the rebound. The article talked about the San Francisco-San Mateo-Redwood City areas.
It gives an opinion of why home prices in that area are rising, and gives encouragement to other areas of the country. Their comments mirror what I've seen in the part of San Mateo County where I work.

The Real Estate Forecast Calculator can be used for other parts of the country, like the Silicon Valley towns in which I work, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Cupertino, Palo Alto, Santa Clara and parts of San Jose.

In a nutshell, this is what they expect to see there:

Real estate forecast: San Jose-Cupertino-Sunnyvale

Here's their calculator where you can check your own area: Real Estate Forecast Calculator

Sadly, the closest this system gets to my market area, Northern Virginia is about 75 miles away and a rural area and worthless.

It is always good to read that the economy is improving. Hope it spreads to rest of the country.

Hi Lenn -- that's too bad, but not surprising. Often calculators or area reports don't hit the target we need. And even when they do, like this one does for my two coverage areas, we still need to know the specifics about areas within the larger group.

Lottie--that is good news about your market.  I will try out the 'forecaster' shortly.  Recently I enjoyed reading the contest winner comments.  FUN idea.

Mary, it's nice to see things improving; I'm finding more buyers ready to take that step than last year. And we do have fun with the mystery photo contest--hope you play along next month--next one should be out around 9/30.

Lottie

That is cool to find out a real estate calculator. I am tired of hearing all the negative news.
