Mystery Photo Contest: The Answers and the Winners!

Mystery Photo Contest: The Answers and the Winners!

Last month’s Mystery Photo took us to an indoor location in San Mateo County California, where you’ll find these appealing critters. I asked you:

  1. red cat statue, Benny Bufano, sculptorstatue of a rabbitWho is the sculptor who created these and many other similar statues?
  2. Where are these particular ones located?

We must have a lot of shoppers out there judging by how many of you knew that Beniamino (Benny) Bufano is the artist who created the cute animal statues that are located in Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo.

We had such a good response last month that I decided there should be two winners—they are: Helen Calhoun, a faithful newsletter reader, and David Ames, a San Francisco real estate agent and Active Rain member who joined in the fun online. Helen and David, you've each won 2 movie tickets to any Cinemark or Century theaters!

David sent along this YouTube video of Hillsdale Mall - if you'd enjoy a trip down memory lane, take a look:

Congratulations to you both, and thanks to all for entering the contest. We'll have another one at the end of the month, so check back then.

This looks like a fun contest and I missed it.  As a local I should have been paying closer attention.  Sorry!  If you do it again hopefully I won't miss it!

Lottie ~  That was great fun!  I notice the names of the sculptor and sculpture show when you go across the picture, thanks.

Hi Tish,

When I post the answer, I have the photos identified -- but I have to remember to have them blank when starting the game!
