Delicious food, gorgeous space and a worthy cause -- it's time for the Peninsula Symphony's 6th Annual Swing Fever Gala

When: Saturday, November 6, 6-11pm      

Where: Hotel Sofitel, 223 Twin Dolphin Drive, Redwood City, CA

ViolinWhy: This fundraiser raises money that allows the Peninsula Symphony to support its volunteer orchestra musicians, bring music into 8 local elementary schools and to master classes in local high schools, present two free community concerts, showcase world class soloists, provide two youth music competitions, give pre-concert lectures prior to subscription concerts, and provide free concert ticket vouchers to disadvantaged seniors, adults and youth in our community.

What:

  • A cocktail reception
  • Sit-down dinner of Grilled Atlantic Salmon served with warm asparagus basil vinaigrette OR Grilled Filet Mignon in a port wine reduction OR Polenta and Ratatouille. End your meal with a trio of desserts including Opera Cake, a Chocolate éclair and a fresh fruit tart with crème patissiere
  • Live & Silent Auctions
  • Dancing and dance performance to the sounds of a 12-piece swing band

It's a great event, Barbara -- lot of fun and for a worthy cause. Music in our schools has taken heavy hits; this group tries to keep a love of music alive in youngsters. And I know they like it; our very active 8-year old granddaughter loves their free Family Symphony performances
