Happy Turkeys-California Style!

Happy Turkeys-California Style!

San Mateo County and the Silicon Valley are great places to live, as is the entire San Francisco Bay Area. These turkeys likely agree--especially since they aren't in an oven somewhere!

These birds might not have had a official White House pardon, but hanging out in our parklands is a wise choice--for turkeys as well as people!

And speaking of hanging out, 10,000 walkers, runners and joggers turned out this morning for the Silicon Valley Turkey Trot held in downtown San Jose -- $140,000.00 was raised for 3 local charities. We did good, Bay Area!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Thanks, Michael. It was so much fun, that it almost seems selfish to call it a charity fundraiser.

Hi Judi -- yes. Last year Gene and I participated; this year my daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Gary, and I ran the 5K; Gene and Gary's parents walked the 5K. Lots of fun, and started the day off right.

Hi Roger -- this is the 12th year of the Silicon Valley Turkey Trot--it has grown immensely, and is actually difficult to run with so many people there. But--the money raised is fabulous, and it's lots of fun.

It is a huge amount. People are very generous. But I see a widening divide between the 'haves' and the 'have nots' that worries me a lot.
