Who says burritos must be Mexican? Not Avatar's Punjabi Burritos most definitely.

Avatar's Punjabi Burritos, Mill Valley, CA

This is a wonderful find for hikers, mountain bikers, and everyone who loves tasty, filling food at a low price. Hiking is a favorite past-time of mine, and the Marin Headlands and Mt. Tamalpais are wonderful hiking areas. Hiking up and down hills and staircases for hours sure whets ones appetite, and Avatar's Punjabi Burritos was just the ticket for us last Sunday.

Menu, Avatar's Punjabi Burrito

Inside Avator's Punjabi Burrito in Mill Valley you'll find three tiny tables; the outdoor sidewalk has a couple more. Or--one can always get a lunch or dinner to go and head down to Old Mill Park about a block away, and enjoy the beauty of the redwood forest while eating your tasty fare. My "naked" (sans wrap) curried sweet potato and vegetables served over jasmine rice was wonderfully filling and flavored, and a glass of chai tea was perfect on a brisk winter's day. Gene enjoyed the jerk chicken wrap-an amazing blend of Jamaican and Indian flavors.

So when hunger strikes and it's time for lunch or dinner, come on down to Avatar's Punbaji Burrito and give it a try. I think you'll be glad you did.

I would just about anything if I could eat it in the Redwood Forest!  When we relocated Beckman Coulter folks from your area out to Indy, we had to show them our little Eagle Creek to show them we had beautiful parks...didn't hold a candle, not even a flashlight to Redwood Forest!

I love it.  Punjabi burritos.  I love Indian food, and this is it with a twist.

Lottie, I love burritos! The Marin Headlands and Mt. Tamalpais are wonderful hiking areas. Bay Area Backroads has featured both these areas on the show. This is a great localism post.

I'm sure your parks are gorgeous--just different. And you have long, soft, warm summer evening to enjoy, don't you? Not us!

Hi Jane -- isn't that a riot? You know you're in California (and Marin County, no less) when there's such a great blend of cultures.

Hi Kathleen -- well, if you love burritos and love Indian food, this place is for you. Such fun, and they welcome one off the trails or in "suits."

The one that you had that was served naked :) sounds really good with sweet potatoes.  I keep thinking that I need to serve some sweet potatoes at home... it's been awhile since I have.

Great write-up on this little place to eat and the food sounds so delicious.
