Another 10-hour Day Looms but I'm Not Complaining

Another 10-hour day is in store for me, but I'm not complaining

It's Saturday, and my concession to that is that I lay in bed until 6:00, and it felt good! However, my relaxing is over, and in 30 minutes I'm on a schedule:

  • prepare a contract addendum to renegotiate a sales price;
  • prepare a contingency removal;
  • scan and print disclosure documents for 2 transactions
  • pick up keys and meet a client and property inspector (isn't the inspector great to meet us on a Saturday??) at a San Mateo condo we have under contract
  • meet another buyer at a Mountain View condo under contract; he's bringing his contractor to take a look, and I'm getting tons of disclosures and reports signed
  • ---and whatever else turns up today, and something always does!

I'll be hard-pressed to fit in an afternoon of hiking and R&R this weekend, but if I can't, I can always enjoy this video clip from last Sunday's hike in the Marin Headlands.

Can you be refreshed by watching a video and remembering the glories of the day? I sure hope so!

--- Come for a visit; Stay for a lifetime!

Good that somebody is working! Those views are absolutely breathtaking...

Maybe it starts on the coasts, and works it's way inland, Cindy. Barbara Todaro, in MA, is seeing the same busy market. Keep those positive thoughts coming!

You're right, Glenn, it's a great day to work; there's a time for everything, right?

Hi Lottie!  WOW, sounds like you're rockin' and rollin' in San Carlos!  SO glad to hear that you're busy and that you're going to have a business-filled day!  And, yes, it's awesome that your inspector will meet you today--not many do Saturday inspections, that's for sure!

I hope you fit in a hike, even if it's only a short one--I know how much I miss it when I skip mine.  I'm working on taxes today, but tomorrow morning I'll be out there on the Palos Verdes hiking trails.

Way to go,Lottie!  10 hour days are nothing when you are busy doing what you love.  And what a beautiful area to hike!  Congrats on the biz- CA was hit pretty darn hard, so it's nice to hear that things are rocking for you.  :)

Hi Debe -- I' m so fortunate to have a great team of inspectors, stagers, floor-plan measurer, cleaner--they make my job much easier. Wishing you the best in Charlotte, NC

Ooh, another hiker, Norma! You probably get just as much refreshment and recharging of batteries as I do from a good hike.  We're lucky to live where we do and can get out and about all year long. Enjoy your hike tomorrow!

Jenn, you'd love trail running and hiking in this area--it's the best! Fortunately for me, our area, on the San Francisco peninsula, wasn't hit as hard as much of the state with short-sales and foreclosures. I won't pretend they aren't here, but not in the numbers elsewhere. How is everything in your neck of the woods?

Lottie, ditto on the busy Saturday. My first call came in this morning at 7:02 AM Mountain Time from a 1M buyer was just outside Boston. And it has been a slammed roller coaster all day. By the way, I like what and how you are using video! Fortunately, both our bodies and imagination remembers hikes!

Hi Dawn, it IS busy, indeed, here. And it's good!

Hi David -- life is funny when sleeping in until 6:00 seems luxurious! Although I worked all day, and still have a few emails left for tonight, it seemed relaxing, somehow.

When the work is here, we work, right Jane? 6:00 is more kind than 4:45!

Hi Emily, I LOVE hearing that you're busy in your area, too. It's not just the coastal areas, then. Doubtful that I'll manage a hike tomorrow, but that might just depend on how early I get up to scan docs, send an addendum renegotiating a contract, and organize my client files. Maybe I'll squeeze a 2-hour jaunt in??? Hope you have a great day, whatever it might bring.

Lottie, what a great idea when you get too busy ~ enjoy your own videos!!!  That's a great idea.  You folks in CA are really lucky, I wish the ocean were closer... I can always drive down (about 1 1/2 and drop in on Tish in Wilmington though.  Hope you got lots done Saturday and enjoyed a day of yesterday!

Pam, I think visiting with Tish would be fantastic--when you do that, share with us! Saturday was a very effective day; Sunday morning, too. In the afternoon I took a nice 7-mile walk in the drizzle-it was beautiful and refreshing.

Lottie--I missed this post over the weekend.  Glad you were able to fit in 7 mile hike.  I keep sneakers & change of clothes in car at all times.  Somedays I can only fit in 20 minute walk at lunch, but it is so-so refreshing.  Busy people get things done!

Hi Mary, I agree, we've most productive when we're busy. I used to keep running clothes and shoes in my car, but now I often have client files with me, and hesitate to leave them at remote trailheads. I've never had a problem, but I'd sure hate to have a file go missing.
