Today in San Francisco-getting in the holiday spirit

Today in San Francisco-getting in the holiday spirit

Saturday-a day for some exercise and personal time-a day to enjoy our fair city-a day to see the beauty and spread the cheer.

Christmas lights are going up, in private homes as well as in businesses. Christmas trees and wreaths are being sold at Whole Foods, at Cole Hardware, at other places around town. I see more wreaths in proportion to trees here in this urban area than I do in suburban San Carlos and other Peninsula and Silicon Valley cities.

Powell-Mason cable car line in North Beach, SF

Today, even one cable car was decked out!

--- Come for a visit; Stay for a lifetime!

Oh, the cable car looks so cute.  Don't you love our weather with all the Christmas decorations.  Looks so out of place :)

Lottie - Way too cute!  This is too much fun is to see the Cable Cars all decorated up.  That had to give you a big boost of holiday spirit!

How fun seeing the cable car all decorated for Christmas.  Sounds like you had a great day Lottie.

Good morning Jane - our weather is simply gorgeous! The high winds have subsided to breezes, the air is crystal clear, and the sun is shining. Life is good.

Hi Laura, funny thing, only that one car was all dolled up for the holidays. It certainly rang in the holiday spirit as it clanged down the hill. And you have snow on the mountains!

Hey Roger --- we had a fabulous day, and the decorated cable car added the final touch! Hope you're enjoying your weekend, too

Lottie, I love the Christmas cable car!  Did they have the puppies and kittens in the Macy's windows at Union Square?  (Not sure if the SPCA put a stop to that, but it sure was festive and cute.)

I haven't been down to Union Square yet this holiday season, Wende. I tend to stick to less crowded areas and explore the various neighborhoods. But, at some point I'll take it all in, perhaps with my granddaughter.

Hi Mike -- every day, more and more holiday spirit is in evidence. Today I saw 30, or 50 Santas on one neighborhood street, I wished I had my camera! Put a smile on my face, for sure. Check out: SantaCon. I had no idea what was going on.
