December's Season of Celebrations and Sharing - Coats for Kids San Carlos CA

December's Season of Celebrations & Sharing -
It's Coats for Kids Week

The City of San Carlos CA and Recology San Mateo County have joined together to give us a super simple way to help our neighbors. They have partnered for the 2011 Coats for Kids program, which provides new and gently used coats for families in need.

This is the week San Carlos residents can participate, and here's how:

  • place gently used or new coats in a clear plastic bag labeled "Coats for Kids"
  • put the bag on top of or next to the blue Recycle Cart for collection during the week on the regularly scheduled pick up day.
  • if you miss your day, simply take the coats to City Hall, 600 Elm Street, San Carlos, 8:00-5:00, by Friday, December 16.

See? I told you it's simple.

--- Come for a visit; Stay for a lifetime!

Lottie - What a worthwhile event.  Hard to believe that in a country with so much wealth wr have children without coats in the winter time.  I hope the Coats for Kids program is a huge success this year

Great event, Lottie.  I hope they have a lot of success this year collecting coats!

Sometimes it's the simplest of gestures that we forget to offer, Lottie.  Hope this effort keeps lots of kids and families in the San Carlos, CA and Recology San Mateo County area warmer in the upcoming months ...

You're a great Santa's elf, Lottie ...

Its a great time of the year to have coat drives.  Our office does this every year as well and cleans out out closets and helps someone at the same time!

I love your promotion to "give back" Great meeting you in person yesterday at the meet up in Emeryville 2011. Hope to have more time together next time. Until then, thank goodness for AR:)

Hi Nevin and David -- I found one coat to donate this morning; hope many others do, too. There's a lot of need, even in the midst of a relatively well-to-do area. Thanks for your caring spirits.

Gene - any cheer we can spread, any hope and joy we can give, is a small thing in the face of such great need. But why not?

Jennifer and John -- I'm glad your areas sponsor coat drives too. I can't imagine being a parent and not being able to buy a needed coat for my child!

Hi Elisa -- it was very nice meeting and chatting with you at yesterday's Active Rain Meet Up. We came up with $315.00 for Second Harvest Food Bank. Don't you just love the spirit of this group? We'll keep in touch!
