A Place For Mom - a Great Resource for Seniors and their Families

Are you familiar with A Place for Mom? It's a great resource for Seniors and their families

happy SeniorsAs a residential Realtor® working in San Mateo County and the Silicon Valley, I enjoy working with Seniors. Perhaps it's because I feel close to my own mother when I do, or perhaps its because they are so appreciative of a bit of guidance and care.

Whatever the reason, when I can make the selling of their present home go smoothly and well when it no longer is enjoyable or practical for them to live there, I feel tremendous satisfaction.

Often the house has become too large, or has too many stairs, or too big of a yard. Or perhaps it's time to be closer to family members, yet not too close!

Before they list their home for sale, I want to be sure they know lifestyle options so they can decide the best next step to take. That's where A Place for Mom comes in.

Rosario, Cupertino CAA Place for Mom helps seniors and their families find senior housing and senior care based on your unique needs and budget.

They are dedicated to being a comprehensive senior living resource, and equip you with the resources to make informed decisions, save time, and feel less alone as you face the many challenges of caring for your aging parents, or finding the right place for yourself.

They can guide you to the right nursing home, assisted living facility or independent living community, help you research Veterans benefits and ways to finance senior care. They are with you each step of the way.

A Place for Mom
is paid by the participating communities and providers in their national network; their service is offered at no charge to families.

To get started, go online to A Place for Mom or give them a call at the toll-free number: 888-879-7917

Once you know where you're going, selling the house is no longer quite so daunting a task. And I'm here to help make that part a bit easier.

It is always good when we can recommend to someone a great place where they can begin their next chapter in life and be with them throughout the process.

Good morning, Pat. I love having a list of resources for people, especially Seniors who are looking to move on and don't quite know how to get started. A Place for Mom is a good starting point.

Lottie:  I'm "suggesting" this post ... and also featuring it in BananaTude today.  This is a subject ... and a service ... that so many here on the Rain (and our readers) are facing, or soon will be.  Taking care of aging parents is not easy ... and knowing where to turn for help and answers makes it so much easier, both mentally and physically.

I hope many bookmark your post and also pass its information on to those they know facing this situation in their own life ...  thanks for posting it ...

A Place for Mom sounds like a wonderful and timely recource for the Baby Boomers.  It certainly can be a difficult time for them.

Getting older is no fun Lottie and it can present enormous challenges for family members to find suitable care for their parents.  It's great to have a resource like A Place for Mom for help.

Many of my clients are also seniors.  I had never heard of "A Place for Mom" but I am going to check it out.  Thanks for the information.

Doug, that's what I thought, too. Hope you and you friends find it useful.

Evelyn, I was talking with folks at one of the independent living facilities in Cupertino--they put me on to the site.

It's a very sad thing when a family member needs to be put into a home. It's like having to put down the family pet, except nothings dieing and it's not as sad. I already have a place my parents are in, but good luck to all of you who don't. Phillius | http://www.sanmarinoretirement.com/assisted_living.html

I wasn't familiar with it until now. I think it is great that there are places that can bring them comfort and the help they need. My mother-in-law needed more help than we could give her. She loves it at the place she is in. http://www.gatewayliving.com/about_gateway_campuses/
