LED lights are the way to go for cost and safety.  I like the blog post.

Hi, Lottie -- great tip and I love the Holiday photo, as well!  Have a great Thanksgiving Day!  Eric

Tim, some utility companies in our area, like the Palo Alto one, offer free exchange--2 strands of old lights, for 2 strands of new LED lights. I think we'll see more LEDs in the future.

Hi Eric -- thanks for the good wishes; same to you. I suspect a lot of people will be out shopping for holiday lights this Thanksgiving weekend.

Lottie,

This is a good education on LED lights and their benefits! We all need to go shopping for lights!

Hi Sharon -- it makes sense to trade out the old for new, at least when it comes to LED lights! Happy shopping.

I love LED lights!  If you get the good ones that are as bright as regular lights, they look great and use a lot less power.

Lottie - The LED lights that I purchased 5 years ago are still going strong today.  We use them year-around in a couple of locations in our home for 24-hour lighting.  Everything they promise to be, they are, and more!  Great suggestion for those on the fence to try them out!

Lottie - I am sure I will have to replace some strings of lights this year.  It's amazing that they work when you take them down but then the following Christmas when you get them out of storage they don't work.  I will be checking out the LED's for sure.

You're right, Peggy. There are a lot of ways to conserve energy--LED lights is one of them. Happy Thanksgiving to you!
