"Ditch Your Device Week," 4/30/13-5/5/13, San Mateo County, CA

"Ditch Your Device Week" is now underway in San Mateo County, CA,  running from April 30, 2013 through Sunday, May 5, 2013

Public Library, Belmont CA

The San Mateo County Library System is hosting "Ditch Your Device Week" which aims to encourage children to turn off electronic devices and spend time with their family and friends. The 12 branches of the San Mateo County library system are all participating by hosting a variety of activities with wide appeal.

Check out the many planned activities. Some highlights are:

  • Enjoy cupcake decorating
  • Make monster bookmarks
  • Toe-tapping music by Randy Kaplan

Wow...sounds awesome.  My business partner and I often talk about getting to a point where we can ditch our devices permanently and just hang out near the beach all day. :)

Love it!

I think, 'ditch your device week' should be national for all the kids and adults.

I really can not imaging our life without all our electronics,but it would be fun to have a break from them:)

Lottie, it seems so unreal that in such a short time that we all have been taken over by our devices.  This is an interesting idea. I wonder how many can adhere to the rules.

Ki, that's a dream, isn't it? At least we can choose to turn off our devices at appropriate times and re-connect with people. Nice to help kids do that, too.
