Yurt Work -- or Sitting in a Yurt by the Bay

Yurt Work -- or, Sitting in a Yurt by the Bay

Real estate is wild in the San Francisco Bay Area. Sellers are definitely king at present, but to get the very best results proper preparation, pricing and marketing is essential; no corners are cut. It takes time.

And working with buyers is stressful, to say the least. I wrote an offer a week ago, 20% over asking; we didn't get the house. Now those buyers have found a new home being built and will be signing a purchase contract on Sunday.

So--it doesn't matter whether I'm off for a 2-day get-away or not. There's a stack of documents to review, to help my buyer look out for added costs and potential "issues."

Sitting in our favorite B&B in Point Reyes Station at the bottom of Tomales Bay reading documents, coffee in hand -- not a bad office. We've enjoyed an afternoon hike to Tomales Point, a soak in the hot tub, and some fine food. Tomorrow morning the reading will continue.

The eclectic life of a Realtor--making it all fit. Love it!

Lottie - You really make a great point with your photo, real estate is a lot of paper work, even if it is electronic paper it's still a business that requires attention to the details!

Laura, I spent over 3 hours on that stack of papers; have a sheet of questions my buyer might wish to ask SummerHill Homes when we meet there this morning.

Barbara, our get-away was wonderful, even if it did involve real estate paperwork.

Steven, do you know Pt. Reyes National Seashore? It's a place like no other. We had a fabulous get-away, and I'm ready to get to work today.

Jane, high-speed internet keeps us in the loop while we're away. It makes the difference between being able to go or cancel plans. I'm happy to take work along!

Sharon, the paperwork is a side of our work that the public rarely sees. Many behind-the-scene hours are spent on every transaction.

Nancy, I think you need a vacation to our area! You, too, could relax in a yurt!
