Lottie

Love it. Great photo. He doesn't have a care in the world.

I love Rodeo Beach. We were there back in early October and saw a bunch of turkeys on the hill by the parking lot...til some little kid ran after them and chased them away. He was probably part of the crowd

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Hi Everyone -- it's fun to see how many of you root for the turkey's escape!! I've just returned from my daughter's house, where we had numerous side dishes--and a bit a turkey.

Hoping you all had a great day of Thanksgiving.

Can you imagine the first time a settler set eyes on this huge bird in the wild? It is not a pigeon, chicken or game hen. I mean this thing would feed a whole tribe as some of them in the wild would reach up into the 80 pounds arena

Richie - they are big---and sometimes like to chase hikers!

Jane, another vote for the turkey escape!

Michelle, I imagine a wild turkey would be quite tough

Nancy, thank you. We had a great, relaxing day; wishing the same for you.

Thanks, Wayne and Jean. We came upon this guy while out hiking on a local trail. He posed nicely, I thought!

Lotte,  That turkey reminds me of the ones my grandmother raised.  I don't think any of hers ever escaped!

Lottie, nice picture - and nice humor, too! Happy Thanksgiving to you & AR family.

Marge, it's amazing how much wildlife we have so close to our urban area. We've seen wild turkeys up at Long Ridge OSP, too. And coyotes and racoons in San Francisco.

Praful, if this little post put a smile on your face, or another's face, it did its job!
