"I downloaded the app. Can't believe something so cool even exists!"

It's not every day that I get a text that says, "Thanks for the email grandma! I downloaded the app. Can't believe something so cool even exists!"

Of course, it's not every day I learn of a FREE iPhone app that allows you to scan your key and digitally store it in a secure server.

lost keysIf you get locked out or lose your key, you simply take your iPhone to any locksmith and open the app on the phone. The locksmith then follows the directions that the phone displays, and is able to create a new key for you.

You can download the iPhone app now. If you have an Android or Windows phone, go to this link, scroll to the bottom of the page and enter your email address. KeyMe will notify you when apps become available for those phones.

Thanks, Jerry Kidd, and RealtyTechBytes.com for cluing me into this service.

When a tech-savvy 21 year old thinks Grandma knows something cool, it does wonders for the ego! Jerry, you earn bonus point from me!

My husband is my hide-a-key, Bill. But for my granddaughter, this app is hers!

Lottie, What will they think of next?  I need an app that will massage my feet every night before I retire.  (LOL)!

Hey that's pretty cool! It would be good to use it on keys to properites in case one ever goes missing in a lockbox. What do you think?

Lottie, OK!  This sounds way too brilliant for words.  It might be better  than a Saint Anthony statue.

That is "way cool" Lottie!

Hi Kathleen -- now that would be something to celebrate!

Elisa, using KeyMe for our house listings is another suggestion Jerry Kidd made. Could be a winner.

Pat, it does sound good. I'll have to wait for the Android app, unfortunately.

Roger, I'm amazed at all the creative minds at work, coming up with app after app.

Janice, I loved getting that text!

Good morning Lottie. I was traveling and missed this so when Tammie re-blogged this I was amazed. It is hard to believe. Thanks for sharing.

Lottie, this is a great app, and only once did my car automatically lock the car, WITH the keys in it.   Thankfully it was in the garage, and not showing homes.

It's a bad thought, isn't it, Joan?

Wow Lottie,

This is a way cool app! I'm going to download the app too and pass this information on. Thanks for sharing! It certainly beats having to re-key your car because you lost the keys.
