Living in San Francisco, San Mateo County and the Silicon Valley provides many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors - all year around. Whether you like to hike, bike, walk, run, or ride a horse--you'll find it all here.
Yesterday afternoon I enjoyed a good hike on some of my favorite trails at Russian Ridge Open Space Preserve in San Mateo County.
Starting at Skyline Boulevard, we went up flower-bedecked trails to the top of Borel Hill, then long the Ancient Oaks Trail (a favorite of many) and then down the canyon to the newly open trail to the top of Mindego Hill before returning to the car.
If you're fortunate enough to live in the area, I invite you to come explore Russian Ridge Open Space Preserve. I think you'll be glad you did.

Hello Laura Allen, Lake Tahoe - Truckee Real Estate for Sale www.TahoeLauraLuxuryHomes.com - yes, the Ancient Oaks trail deserves to be a favorite; fantastic old oaks and gorgeous views too.

Russian Ridge open space preserve is great location for a walk.
Good luck and success.

That it is. As if Russian Ridge isn't enough in itself, Lou Ludwig it adjoins Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve, which leads to Long Ridge, from where you can hike to Portola Redwoods State Park, then to Big Basin State Park -- and then to the ocean in Santa Cruz County! It's amazing how much open space we have available to us on this narrow, densely populated peninsula.
