Family Fest at Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve

One of the benefits of living where we do is our fabulous network of  open space preserves, county parks, state parks and the Golden Gate National Recreation Area lands.

Hillside at Russian Ridge OSP

If you are living in or near the Silicon Valley and San Mateo County, I invite you to check out The Wingding Family Fest.

Where: Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve

When: Saturday, May 21, 2016

Time: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

You'll find something for everyone - nature walks, an introduction to geocaching, art and craft activities, information about the birds, insects and mammals that share our lands with us.

If you haven't yet discovered Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve, in the hills above Palo Alto on Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35)  Saturday May 21, 2016 would be an excellent time to do so.

--- Come for a visit; Stay for a lifetime!

Hi Lottie what a beautiful picture. I remember visiting Golden Gate National Recreation Area may years ago. Thanks for sharing.

We're fortunate to have an incredible amount of acreage set aside as open space--most of it useable by us. A real boon in a densely urban area, Noah Seidenberg

Lottie, I know your passion for all the open space the bay area has to offer. You hike many trails and enjoy them all. The event on the 21st sounds like a great event for many to enjoy.

Hi Lottie - the activities and open spaces in your part of the country are numerous.

Hi Kathleen Daniels - we pay big bucks to live where we do; we have great resources to enjoy, too, including our open space preserves and events like the Skyline Ridge fest

Without a doubt, Grant Schneider - many things to enjoy and benefit from when living here.

Lottie

Skyline Ridge is an outstanding California open space preserve.

Good luck and success.

Skyline Ridge OSP is, indeed, a great place, Lou Ludwig. It is one of 3 contiguous open space preserves along the ridge of the peninsula--views of the Pacific Ocean to the west, and the Silicon Valley, bay and east bay to the east. Great hiking/trail running for miles and miles.

Good morning, Gita Bantwal - I'm a huge fan and supporter of our local parklands; they are a huge benefit to life in our area, yet many people aren't in the habit of availing themselves of all they have to offer. I like getting the word out about events like this one.

As always Lottie Kendall I love reading about events in your area and the hikes/walks you take frequently.  I walk almost every day but not in the types of places you do.  Today I plan to walk down a different country road where I know there are wild flowers.  Might bring a few home!

Being close to such open spaces can really allow you to relax and unwind, looks fantastic to me.

Hi Mary Yonkers - your area and mine; two different places, both delightful.

Our highly urbanized area of the Silicon Valley and San Francisco makes the need for wildlands extremely important. We are fortunate to have thousands of acres set aside for this purpose, Morgan Evans and they are enjoyed by walkers, hikers, trail runners, equestrians and mountain bikers.

Lottie, sure looks like a beautiful area, and hope you both could get there over the weekend.

I was with clients Saturday morning so didn't make it to the Fest, Joan Cox - but we recently had a fabulous hike there, which we'll remember for a long time.
