September-Time to End Childhood Cancer

September 24, 2016 -- that's the day people in cities all over the country will be taking time to help end childhood cancer.

St. Jude's walk to end childhood cancer, SF

In San Francisco, the St. Jude Walk/run to End Childhood Cancer will take place at the San Francisco Zoo. If you haven't pre-registered, you can do so at 7:00 AM. The 5K walk/run begins at 8:00 AM, and is suitable for the entire family. You participation will help raise needed funds to continue the research for treatment of childhood cancers that St. Jude's has sponsored since 1962. Treatments invented at St. Jude's have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since the hospital opened.

If you don't happen to live in or near San Francisco, you can find the St. Jude's walk closest to you by clicking the above link.

San Francisco is a City with heart - let's join in and help St. Jude's continue their mission to wipe out childhood cancer.

--- Come for a visit; Stay for a lifetime!

Hi Lottie... time to end childhood cancer; time to end all cancer once and for all! I'm sure each of us has lost one or more important people in our lives to cancer.

Hi Noah Seidenberg and Nina Hollander - I am fully booked next Saturday and can't participate in this Walk/Run, so thought my contribution would be encourage others to participate.

Is there a run in your areas?

Lottie Kendall ~ hi Lottie, I'm not sure about St Judes in our area. We do have quite a few events in Charlotte via Children's Miracle Network, where we have a fantastic Children's CMN hospital.

Children with cancer and their families have suffered long enough. I pray for a miracle to find a cure.

Hi Lottie, the walk here in Denver takes place on Saturday, September 24th as well. It will be at Broncos Stadium. That should be cool. We are already obligated on that morning so we can't participate.

St Jude has long been one of my pet charities; am so glad you are shining a spotlight on all the good things they do.

St Jude was always one of the charities promoted by the elementary school that I worked at.   I am so glad that we have such an organization that is helping children with cancer.

Hi Patricia Feager - St. Jude is one of the organizations that has made great strides in finding new and better treatments for childhood cancers. Childhood leukemia is one of them, but the might continues.

I can't participate in our walk on the 24th either, Donna Foerster - I hope both of our communities have great turnouts.

Hello Sharon Lee - agreed! Thanks for reading and commenting.

Hi Laura Allen, Lake Tahoe - Truckee Real Estate for Sale www.TahoeLauraLuxuryHomes.com - I wish I could join in the walk/run to support St. Jude's research, but am double-booked that day. Hopefully it will draw large, generous crowds!
