Thanksgiving has past, but it's still autumn

While autumn will officially be with us for another couple of weeks, Christmas decorations are popping up all over town. I figured I had best post one more picture of autumn before we say goodbye to my favorite season for another year.

The gorgeous tree in the first photo is in front of a house in Menlo Park, and is one of many that shrieked to me "take my picture" when I was out on tour this past Tuesday. Palo Alto residential streets are gorgeous with yellow Ginkgoes and red Liquid Ambers. The brilliant orange-red of Chinese Pistache trees is seen all over Los Altos. And Ladera, a section of Portola Valley, is aglow with a variety of colors.

Soon these trees will be bare, and Christmas lights will adorn their branches and the nearby homes. Beauty of a different nature.

Wow! Beautiful Lottie Kendall I love it. Once those leaves fall time to start looking at the beautiful Arizona sunsets where I live in Scottsdale

Oh Lottie, these are beautiful. And, I once had the opportunity to visit the San Francisco area during the holidays, if possible, it was even more beautiful.

It is still autum but it should look more like Christmas here in Minnesota.

Lottie, we don't have too many trees around here that still have leaves. Most of the Christmas and holiday lights are up. Quite a few were up before Thanksgiving too.

Glad you got to enjoy at least some autumn - I haven't really noticed down here as I'm usually surrounded by evergreens ----- the winds whipping today are a reminder that it is indeed fall season

Lottie,  As I was out and about the other day ... I noticed a tall full tree with bright gold leaves just smiling at me.  I doubted the vibrant color believing my sun glasses may have distorted the color ... even more stunning with my glasses off. So pretty.  I could not get a photo before the light changed.

Jeffrey Masich - your Arizona sunsets are incomparable!

Hi Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD - as the City decorates itself for the holidays, I'm sure I'll be posting many pictures. I'll share them so you feel like you've visited again.

Hi William Feela - yes, I would think MN would feel like winter by now. Maybe this is the week!

Hi Donna Foerster - well, that gives Mr. and Mrs. Santa more time to spread their good cheer!

John Meussner - the winds today are fierce -- gusts up to 95 mph across the Sierras up here.

Hi Ron and Alexandra Seigel - winds are up here today, too. It was chilly walking across the Pac Heights crest this morning to my Pilates class!

Hi Kathleen Daniels - I'm glad you've had a chance to enjoy some of the spectacular trees; they truly are gorgeous; by next week, the ginkgoes will likely be bare.

Hello Ed Silva - yes, we're definitely behind the season compared to you. Thanksgiving weekend might be prime time for our leaf show here at sea level - the mountains, of course, are different.

Hi Endre Barath, Jr. - it's about the same here in San Francisco today; we're about to walk over to a "Christmas by Candlelight" concert a handful of blocks away; I'm wearing a warm coat, wool neck scarf and gloves!! I'm glad you enjoyed the tree pictures--they were too pretty to keep to myself.

Indeed, Lou Ludwig - nature is clinging to autumn here, but the Christmas decorations are out in force.

Hi Lottie - those are beautiful fall shots.  You are certainly a number of weeks behind us.  All of the trees are bare in the New York Metro area.
